Time for our weekly update from the Studio, where our design team is working hard on project Bespoke Bag.
If you have been following this series, you might be excited to find out how our client Lenka’s bag has been developing. In the previous post, we showed you how the handles are made and how the special message has been designed and embossed on the leather.
This week, we are moving on to working on the main body of the Maxi Karolina. Below you can see how the final result looks. The design team came up with the ‘logo’ themselves and are proud of their recent work; having worked closely with our client Lenka, we know her taste and we think it would appeal to her too. Our goal is to make her feel she is the owner of a unique bag, but also surprise her and exceed her expectations.
The next picture shows how the front and back parts are being stitched onto the body of the handbag. To do this, we use an industrial machine that allows for ultimate precision and controls of the process, ensuring it is perfectly done every time.
The next step is to attach the handles, as you can see below. The final touches are the bar stitches, which are part of the decoration, but also give the handles extra strength. After all, that Maxi Karolina bag will be used to carry around important stuff and has to be a reliable companion for its owner. Being handmade, it is a delectable and bespoke accessory.
The next picture gives you an outlook on the zipper – one of the striking details of the bag. Attaching it to the body is done by gluing a lining that holds the zipper and is then stitched on top.
Almost at the finish line! We are over excited to show Lenka Gourdie her new handbag and trust she will love it. Are you also waiting with anticipation to see how it looks? Coming soon, in next week’s post.
In the meantime, why not read the whole process of our Bespoke Project from the beginning?
