This week we are back Behind the Scenes, to offer you an insight about the inspiration that goes into our work. Today, we turn our attention to one our most popular and signature bags – the Severina.
Originally created back in 2008, the Severina is named after one of our colleagues – our PR agent – who fell in love with the bag the moment she first saw it. We happen to be inspired by people and it is why a number of our handbags are adorned with feminine names. The Severina bag herself has changed through time, the design has developed and evolved, while staying true to its original shape and model structure. Just like her namesake!
The Severina was born out of the desire to combine aesthetics with everyday practicality, merging them into one timeless piece. It happened so naturally, like it was meant to be. Classically shaped and wonderfully practical, the bag is for ladies who know what they are after, and are often characterised with a strong individuality and clear personal style. It is designed for to suit a variety of occasions, to be easy to combine with a variety of outfits and to stay on trend, so that it can transcend through countless special moments in one’s life.
The inspiration behind the Severina is the desire to make something superb in quality, with the idea of delivering exceptional functionality with unmatched attention to detail. The details carefully developed to add functionality include the hand stitched detailing, the hand finished central flap, typical for our designs, as well as the central lock and removable chain strap, which means the Severina can easily transform itself from a day, shoulder bag to an evening clutch.
As our designs are so often inspired by architecture, the references in the Severina are quite clear too – including the straight lines and perfect shapes of the bag, the geometrical silhouette, as well as the symmetry of its proportion. The vision is original and complete, with an individual and bold construction. Moreover, when tailored to the client’s exact specifications, this accessory could turn into a private art piece. These can range from picking a colour to suit your wardrobe, to adding personalised details with a sentimental value, your loved one initials or a message to inspire you on your everyday move. It comes in a variety of leather and colour combinations, but do not hesitate to speak to us about your individual preferences.
The Severina is beautiful as an opera aria, with its elegance and feminity, delivering a strong and bold performance.
And which is your favourite version of the Severina?
