Dear Readers, over the next few months we are going to be writing about great places for doing business over breakfast or lunch, as well as giving you our suggestions on which of Anya’s bags and accessories to take with you, so watch this space! Today’s post is about Business Breakfasts in London. Our next post in this series (“Business Lunches in London”) will be posted on 15th February 2016.

When it comes to business, we all know that breakfast is the new lunch, but what are our tips for making the right impression and landing that all-important deal?

Well, first off, you need to look the part! London is one of the most stylish cities in the world and you need to stand out. The Maxi Karolina, our take on the formal tote bag, is the ultimate in sassy sophistication. If you are a business-woman who wants to look a bit different but in a classy, understated way, then consider the Maxi Karolina in Olive Green and Black Leather. Perfect for the season.

If you’re going all out for the look of the elegant woman who means business, then push the boat out and get yourself a Luxury Grande Sunburst Holdall in Dark Grey. A statement piece par excellence, which will get London heads turning as you make your entrance for breakfast!

And don’t forget about your accessories. A Berry Pencil Case in Metallic Olive Green or Metallic Brown will be perfect this winter in London to hold your Mont Blanc fountain pen.

So with your styling done, where do you go to secure that lucrative contract over coffee and granola? Look no further than our list of favourite places in London for business breakfasts. Here goes….

The Wolseley
As you know, we like style and we like tradition so it won’t come as a surprise to you to see The Wolseley top of our list. Cosy seating and hearty food combine with classy furnishing and a dash of celebrity to make this a “must” if you want to create the right impression with that upmarket client. For something a bit more unusual than your average breakfast, go for the Kedgeree – delicious!

The Delauney
If you want a classy place with a buzz of excitement, then be sure to try out The Delauney. Large but intimate, it has just the right level of formality for a business breakfast, and is always nicely full, making it a pleasant hive of activity. Our favourite here is the Granola with Maple Syrup and Raisins – a traditional dish with an interesting twist.

Riding House Cafe
Cool, modern and vibrant, the Riding House Cafe is a firm favourite for business breakfasts. The distinctive decor, superb service and interesting menu will leave no-one disappointed. Feel like treating yourself? Go for the Lobster Benedict for an indulgent start to the day.

Little House
The Soho House group always manages to hit just the right note when it comes to blending a relaxed atmosphere with a touch of formality, and nowhere more so than its Mayfair gem, Little House. This exclusivity comes at a price of course (like all the other Soho House venues, this is a private members’ club) but it’s worth every penny. Our favourite here is the Avocado on Toast with Poached Egg.

Dear Readers, we have been quiet for a while but we’re pleased to announce that 2016 is the year when our blog is very much back online!  And where better to see in 2016 than the romantic city of Riga, the birthplace of Anya, our Creative Director?

Old Town Riga

Riga is one of those places that seduces you with its blend of Baltic sophistication and traditional rustic simplicity.  Our favourite place is the Christmas Market in Downtown, which has the 13th century Cathedral of St Mary as its romantic backdrop.

Winter fair’s stalls with amber and wool.

Here you can potter from stall to stall, at one moment choosing from an array of traditional Amber stone jewellery, at another delving between cosy homemade woollen jumpers, plush deerstalker hats and comforting sheepskins, and at another picking from an assortment of blackened joints of meat, smoked traditional-style.

Stalls with food.

And all the while you are embraced by the wintry smell of roasting meats, chestnuts and caramel-coated peanuts. Sipping a mulled wine by the open fire at the centre of the market, and watching the snow settle on the ground, you feel a million miles away from the hurly-burly of London life.  A great way to recharge the batteries.  Hello 2016!
